Garlic Chives Plant

Garlic Chives Plant are a herb, not a vegetable though related to the onion. This herb has been awarded the RHS award of Garden Merit for its excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. It is a low maintenance herb as only needs watering until established and in dry weather; dies down in winter, but will reappear in spring. It is delicious chopped and mixed into a salad or added to other dishes; also making an attractive garnish due to the edible pink flowers. Garlic chives does well in containers and can be grown on a sunny windowsill or balcony, however can also be positioned on the patio.

Planting- March to August

Harvest time- Cut the leaves to within 3cm as required. Fully opens flowers can be harvested for use in salads and sauces.

Covid 19

Due to the coronavirus restrictions on business and the guidance on social distancing we will leave you order in a safe place on your front drive, within easy reach from our delivery vehicles. Unfortunately we will be unable to carry goods through your house or to the rear of your property. Orders are picked and delivery by our own staff who will wear disposable gloves when handling your order. All order confirmation and invoicing will be completed by email.

Care- Keep well watered until established and in dry weather. Dies down in winter, but will reappear in spring

Tip- Chives make good companion plants to discourage aphids in the garden
