Growing vegetable plants will attract wildlife to your garden. So get out there planting and add a few plants to attract the local wildlife.

Vegetables and fruit plants are generally easy to grow. Specialist knowledge is not required. Just follow the instructions and get fantastic results.

Furthermore many are rather nice to look at and smell too. Runner beans plants flower for weeks and their lush foliage adds great colour.

Spring is the best time to grow vegetable plants. Tomatoes, cucumbers and pepper plants all grow from seed in the spring.  Start in a greenhouse to avoid cold and frost. Plant potatoes as seed potatoes. Plant potatoes in well prepared ground. 

Ensure the ground is well prepared and use bark mulch to suppress weeds. Feed plants with granular plant food when planting. Additionally use liquid food on established plants.

Plant broad beans other winter crops in the autumn. Further planting in the autumn is less time consuming and lower maintenance. Plants grow their roots over the winter. 

For best results plant all plants in good quality compost.
